Blog Hop Stop!

Hi, folks! Welcome to another blog hop stop. I regret that I'm late to post this, so I'm going to leave it headlining all day tomorrow, too. Please welcome Liia Ann White!

Please tell the readers a little about yourself:

I’m an Aussie author, geek and animal lover. I love all things supernatural, even if they’re a bit terrifying. Whenever I’m not writing, I’ll be found reading, playing video games or walking/running around with my dogs.

How about your latest release?

Her First White Christmas is a sweet little erotic romance that contains two Australian lead characters finding love. Here’s the blurb:

Remy Sommers has grown weary of his playboy lifestyle. He’s ready to fall in love and settle down. Problem is, he doesn’t know where to start. After attending his sister’s wedding, he takes her advice and contacts the 1 Night Stand dating agency – the same agency she used to find her new husband.

Bella Donna has had enough of blind dates. She’s always left bitterly disappointed. On the advice of a friend, she contacts Madame Evangeline, hoping her reputation precedes her and she can find Bella Donna her perfect man.

A mysterious invitation from Madame Evangeline leads them both to the secluded and exclusive Castillo Lodge in Alaska for a holiday event.

Will they get their happily ever after? Or will their first white Christmas end in disaster and disappointment?

What was your primary inspiration for this book?

When I wrote my first 1Night Stand story One Hot Australian Night, I knew I wanted any other stories that followed to be connected somehow to the original. Remy, the male lead in Her First White Christmas, is the brother of my female lead from OHAN, Zalia. His character just came to me one night in a dream – which is where I get most of my inspiration from – and Bella Donna soon followed suit. The story actually wrote itself; it was a very easy process writing this one.

Do you have any muses?

I have my inner Muse – the subconscious part of my mind who comes out while I’m asleep and gives me all sorts of different ideas. Then there’s my dog Buda. She’s not really a Muse; she’s what I call my writing buddy. If she’s sitting at my side, sleeping, I tend to write a lot faster. Her First White Christmas was written over a few days with Buda at my side the entire time. I think that’s why it was such an easy process. She keeps me very calm when I hit a wall in my writing.

Do you control your characters or do they flog you into shape?

My characters definitely flog me. As a stubborn, hardheaded person myself, I tend to write characters very similar to me. This backfires when I try to tell them what to do and just get a big ‘No Liia, this is how we’re doing it’ in reply. They always tell me where to go (in a polite way of course) and change the plot.

When you write, is there a special routine you follow?

Not really. I pretty much just sit down with my laptop and write. I always have to have a drink at my side, either water, Pepsi Max or red cordial. But as I said before, I write better with my dog at my side, so I try to coax her into snuggling up next to me J

If you could be one animal, person, or at a place for a day what/who/where would it be?

I’d love to be an eagle for a day. I’ve always wanted to fly and eagles are such beautiful animals. The Wedge-Tailed Eagle in Western Australia (where I live) literally makes me stop and stare when I see one, flying or not. They’re majestic creatures.

Five random facts about you:

1. I have 16 piercings, all in my ears.
2. I have a photographic memory, but also have memory lapses, which cause some short-term memory impairment.
3. I’ve seen every episode of The Simpsons that has ever aired and constantly quote the show. It’s only embarrassing when people don’t have a clue what I’m talking about!
4. I’ve had hand-reared pet birds almost my entire life, including the 2 weiros I have now. I love birds.
5. I’ve lived in the same house for 23 of my 26 years of life.

Are you working on any new releases later this year?

I’m currently working on another 1Night Stand story, which involves Bella Donna’s best friend, Gabe – it’s going to be a very saucy story, probably the most erotic I’ve written. Also I’m continually working on a Young Adult urban fantasy as well as the follow up to my debut novel, Elora’s Match.

Anything else you’d like to say?

Thank you so much for having me!!
And thanks to everyone who dropped by. I love chatting with new people, so hit me up J
